Why Pressure Washing Is Critical For Cleaning And Sanitation Reasons

By Ericka Marsh

A lot of things, such as commercial buildings, houses, sidewalks and parking lots, in Holly Springs NC, get dirty every day. This is caused by many occurrences, such as winds and rain. That is what happens outside. There are also many inside areas that get dirty from people doing things that may or may not be appropriate. All of this needs to be cleaned up and the use of a company who does pressure washing must be called.

There are a number of names for this process, such as pressure cleaning and power washing, however, they all mean the same thing. This process revolves around a machine that generates the pressures necessary for removing all of the sticky material that creates the muck you see. These pressures are between 250 and 6500 PSI. PSI means pounds per square inch at the nozzle.

The pressures generated allow this process to clean without using chemicals. It is simply the mechanical action of the water that does the work. Since there are no chemicals, cleaning can be done without any cross contamination. Since no chemicals or contamination, the runoff can be allowed to go into street drains and those sanitary drains that flow into the groundwater. This flows into creek and streams and they are regulated by the local authorities.

The professionals that are trained in the proper use of this equipment can select the best pressures for each task. They will also select the appropriate nozzles to make the work more efficient. There are many different nozzles and each of them have specific reasons for being used.

The selections of nozzles consist of a few specialized ones and a lot that are simply fans of various degrees of arc. The most popular specialized one is the oscillating power head, often simply called the power head. It has several nozzles that rotate around a straight flow that agitates the sticky goo to move it off of the surface.

Other nozzles than can be selected come in the shape of a fan, often at a fairly wide angle, such 180 degrees of arc. These are useful for sweeping large areas or straight passageways such as alleys and sidewalks. This nozzle will also help keep roofs clean of the normal debris they get. They are used for dusting windows off when it is not time to actually clean them.

Since no chemicals are used with this process, food plants can be cleaned inside and out. The blending and storage areas usually need top to bottom cleaning on a regular basis. This includes ceilings, walls, equipment and even the drains. This thorough cleaning can be accomplished by these professionals, using the appropriate machine and nozzle. This makes a completely germ and bacteria free environment with one sweep through this space.

The listing of all tasks that can be done with a trained crew is a very large one. Fronts of buildings and the are a few of these. A swimming pool getting ready for the next season is another. Outside break areas that are often sticky from smokers who do not always use the appropriate trash containers continue the list. Inside food and chemical plants and wide open manufacturing spaces are just a couple of the inside spaces. Have a talk with a representative of that firm and find out others for the list.
