Corporate Parties In New York City

By Sara Reighard

Often our company parties can get a bit dull, and if you are trying to plan a company event, it is wise to think a little bit outside the box. It doesn't matter whether you are organizing a product launch or hosting a corporate seminar or planning a festive employee party, the keys to success are the same.

1. Select A Killer Location

Real estate agents stress the importance of location and that's just as important for a corporate event as it is when buying a house. Instead of opting for a tired old corporate event venue such as hotel or a cookie-cutter conference facility, select something a bit more enticing. For instance, a Manhattan loft apartment can provide you with plenty of space and the setting is much more relaxing and enjoyable.

The staff at Home Studios, Inc. offers two Manhattan lofts for rent, and each is ideal as a corporate event venue, a fundraiser venue, product launch venue or any type of company event. Their offerings include a 4,000-square-foot loft with 14-foot ceilings, a dressing room, production office and client lounge as well as two full kitchens. This loft can accommodate 175 people for standing event and 125 for a sit-down dinner. The other loft encompasses 3,000 square and includes a greenroom, a client office and a fully equipped kitchen. The space accommodates 100 for a sit-down event and about 120 for a standing event. Both include wireless internet throughout and a dedicated client phone line.

2. Don't Neglect The Food

While the timing of your event has a direct effect on the food and beverages you provide, the quality of these items should be a high priority. A breakfast event should be more than a box of muffins or donuts, and a lunch event should move beyond a typical boxed sandwich lunch. Think about buffets filled with freshly made food, perhaps even with a special theme or specific cuisine.

3. Know Your Message

Some events have a pretty simple message. After all, if you are hosting a holiday party for employees, you just want everyone to have a fun time in a stress-free, social environment. But for a product launch or a corporate seminar, you really want to decide on a single, clear message and focus your presentation around it. You can dazzle guests with a great location and delicious food, but your message should be clear and well-organized. Create a great presentation and provide additional, well-organized information for people to take home from the event.

4. Spice Up The Entertainment

If however, you are hosting a party to celebrate a recent success or just treating staff to a special event, it's nice to offer some entertainment. Consider the personalities of your staff when planning out the music, games or other offerings. A boisterous crowd might enjoy karaoke, dancing or even participating in a company talent show, while a quieter bunch might prefer soft music and a wine tasting. Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions from the employees when you are planning as it might spark some new ideas. You could even consider a theme, such as a casino night or even something quirky like a barbecue or luau theme.
